Palau Tekong trip (NS)
Yesterday, my mother and I went for the Palau Tekong trip, i was invited as I'm still a PR. Palau Tekong is where the soldiers have their Basic Military Training (BMT) there, it is compulsory for everyone (the guys), it may last from 9 weeks, or worst still, 3 months.

Wake up about 6.20am, trained all the way to Expo MRT station. Reach the ferry terminal, anyway, it was quite near the Changi Airport. The planes are flying so low above my head.

Have a bit of breakfast at the terminal, we were ferry to Palau Tekong. We were the purple colour group, and always the last one. First stop was the assembly area. There's one status posed at there. Next proceed to bus tour, wow, saw the marching parade and also the obstacles course near the roads.

Next stop, it was lecture time. We went into one of the lecture hall in that island. The lecture hall is smaller than Innova one. Anyway, the talk is about the equipment we needed for NS day, what we should expect to have and stuffs. The speaker (commanders) was dam good in his speech.

Next, we proceed to the emergency hospital on that island. There's a talk conducted by an uncle there. He's funny and able to interact with the crowd. Anyway, he talk how we can protect ourselves from any injuries in the camp and any safety precautions. One good thing i know, you can report sick or unwell, even you are not. However, there's still retake whatever you miss.

Next, we proceed to the bunks (hostel). Wow, it feel like a chalet. The beds are so comfortable and there's a locker for everyone. Then, outside, there're poles for us to hang our clothes. There's also so-called a living room on each floor we can watch TV, play games when there's no training.

Next we proceed to the auditorium on this island. Talks of experince by the commanders are conducted there. Anyway, during the Q&A section, it was amazing. There're so many questions during this section, first time, i feel it that way. The Q&A last about an hour long.

Next we proceed to the cookhouse where we have our lunch. The lunch is also what the soldier will be eating when they training. There's a displayed of what we gonna eat. When I saw the soup, it look like shark fins sia. Tell my mother about it, she was laughing away.

When I tried the food, it was oh my god.. Zzz.. The food is really *ahem*. I try the so called "shark fins", it really taste horrible. Anyway, i manage to finish up all the food on my plate except that "shark fin" soup. My mum got the vegetarian food, it taste much better than the chinese food la. Lol..

Next, we ferry back to the mainland and ended 2.30pm. It was a fun experience going Palau Tekong. Looking forward for the NS life. =)
